The basic election post is here.

They're even using "instant runoff", what fans know as "Australian ballot".

(First actual post to my own LJ in ages, since my new content goes on my own blog now, but this is LJ-only so it seems like it belongs here.)

Why do you support him?

(I haven't looked at the candidate list yet, but I've heard of him already because someone else on my friends list also posted in support of his candidacy.)

I wasn't actually looking for a statement of the candidate's position, sorry if I was unclear. I was curious what in particular appealed to dd_b. Thanks for answering what you thought I was asking, though!

He's the only candidate with an actual platform (specific things he wants to get accomplished), and I support those things. I've followed him online for some time now, and met him in person briefly when he was through town taking photos for his "where I write" project (he stayed with us one night, and photographed Pamela for the project). So I know a lot more about him than any of the other candidates, too.

Thanks. I ended up voting for him as well (with my alternates being the two others who appeared to have put any thought at all into their statements).
